Candy Cane Fun Run

Today was the annual Candy Cane Fun Run at the kid's school. I can't believe we get up early every year to go and run with the other 600 kids and their parents INSIDE the school, but we do. And boy is it crowded. This was Meg's "first official run", so she was "so excited". I took the camera to capture a few pictures, but Garrett made me promise not to "embarass him with the camera". This means no pictures of him. I got the message and just took a few of Meghan running with one of her good friends who also happens to be of our next door neighbors.

After running, the girls decided to go to the cafeteria for some cookies and cocoa.

The Gingerbread House

Last week, a gingerbread house arrived on our doorstep from Williams Sonoma - YUM, YUM. It was our Christmas gift from Aunt Sandy and Uncle John and we loved it! I took it out of the box and it looked so beautiful. I was content to just enjoy it as a decoration in the kitchen (it matches my Gingerbread dishes so well and was personalized with our name above the kitchen door), but my two little elves, wanted to eat it all up! So, tonight we unwrapped the plastic and had a delicious treat! Thanks Aunt Sandy and Uncle John!

Hat Day

Today is Hat Day at school. For the bargain price of $1 you can wear a hat all day. Garrett wants nothing to do with this tradition, however Meghan loves it! Bart and I took her to the mall and this is the hat she chose - pink glitter.
So today Meg thinks she is a rock star - can you tell?

Kindergarten Program

Today was the Kindergarten program at the Meghan's school. All 6 kindergarten classes got together in the cafeteria and sang 4 songs which lasted for a grand total of 9 minutes.
That's right, NINE. It took longer for the kids to get in the cafeteria and on the risers and for the parents to get up and take photos before the singing began than the actual program lasted.
Here is a short clip of Meghan singing.

Baking Cookies

Last weekend, the Palmers came to visit. We had a weekend full of activities - from making Christmas placements, and baking Christmas cookies to Jenn and I spending some good sister time together at the nail salon.
You will notice the eye make-up on the girls. Just before the cooking began, Grace and Meg had fun decorating each other's eyebrows. It looks like Jenn and I will need to go over proper make-up application in the future. ha ha.

Aunt Jenni oversaw the process -

While waiting for the cookies to bake, the girls danced to Christmas music.

Putting icing on the cookies - yummy!

City Champions

We have played soccer for many, many years. Some seasons are better than others, but today was the BEST ever! Why today? Well for the first time Garrett's team played in the city league's soccer championship. The Lizards had 3 games today and the first two games were won with little difficulty and the Lizards made it to the championship game. The games are decided by wins and then a point system, so when we started the game we were ahead but we had to win or tie the game in order to win the tournament and be declared champions.
No pressure - haha.
It was a very good game, with ability pretty evenly matched. The game was tied 0-0 until the second half and guess who scored the winning goal - - - - - - - Garrett.
Below is a picture of the winning score kick - (I was on zoom lens and missed the goal on the side).

Here is a picture of Garrett celebrating after checking the point poster on the field and realizing they won and are city champions.

Celebrating with the team -

And this is how Meg looks during the games...

VIP and more

Today Bart and I were invited to the school's award ceremony because Garrett was receiving a special award - the VIP (Very Important Panther) award for academics, achievement and for being such a good role model for second grade. We are very proud of Garrett!

While we were at school, I stopped by and took a few pictures of Meg in class. Doesn't she look studious?

Happy Halloween

Today it was a simply beautiful autumn day. Garrett has a soccer game, when we got home the kids played outside all afternoon and we decorated the golf cart for the evenings festivities.

We started the evening as a Magician and a Black Kitty.

but after trick or treating at Barbara's we had a costume mishap and the Magician transformed into Brett Favre.

After visiting MANY houses, we finished the night at our neighbors house and decorated yummy cupcakes!
